The Ram Promaster City is a van designed for businesses that need space but don’t what the bulk of a full-size van. This compact hauler offers the option for rear seats if you need to haul people, or you can leave them out if you need space for cargo. For the 2021 model year, Ram added fog lights as an option and made alloy wheels available for the Tradesman. Own the road in the 2021 Ram Promaster City.

 

The Model Lineup

The entry-level Promaster City is the Tradesman. It has steel wheels, keyless entry, and black bumpers. The SLT adds body-colored bumpers and heated and power-adjustable side exterior mirrors. The passenger vans come standard with sliding side doors, and these are offered as an option for the cargo van. All 2021 Promaster City models have swing-out 180-degree rear doors, and the wagon comes standard with rear windows. Vented side windows are optional, along with fixed glass windows in the cargo van’s back doors.

Ram offers the Lights and Wheels package with fog lights and 16-inch alloy wheels, or you can get the Taxicab Group with black 16-inch steel wheels. 

 

The Power and Performance

Power for the Promaster City comes from a 2.4-liter four-cylinder gas engine that puts out 178 horsepower. The standard nine-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly through the gears, while the 122-inch wheelbase adds to the smooth and pleasant ride. The Promaster City’s size makes it easy to maneuver in and around urban streets, and the tight turning radius will allow you to slip in small parking spaces and around tight corners.

The cargo van can haul up to 1,890 pounds, and when equipped, it can tow up to 2,000 pounds.

 

The Versatile Interior

Inside, the Promaster City’s versatile interior provides the space any business needs to succeed. The cargo van has two seats in the front and a large cargo area with over 131 cubic feet of space. Up to six in-floor tie-down rings are available so the driver can safely secure cargo. The Wagon has seating for five and a folding rear bench seat that opens up the rear when you need it. The base trim comes with power windows, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel, and air conditioning. The SLT models have upgraded cloth upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Ram offers several optional upgrades, such as heated front seats and a cargo partition for the Cargo Van.

 

The Technology Features

A 5-inch touch screen comes in the Tradesman models along with the Uconnect infotainment system, a USB port, and an auxiliary input. A four-speaker stereo system is also standard. Optional tech add-ons include satellite radio, Wi-Fi, and a six-speaker stereo. A telematics system for businesses that need to monitor their vehicles is optional.

Every Promaster City comes with electronic stability control, anti-lock brakes, and seven air bags. The ParkSense Rear Park Assist system is optional for any model or trim.

The Ram Promaster City is the perfect size for city driving, whether it’s for business or pleasure. This small van has options for passengers or cargo and an engine with plenty of power for any job.
