Dodge Challenger People often confuse the Dodge Challenger and the Dodge Charger, but these two performance vehicles are very different. They might share a few of the same features, but the Challenger and Charger have some significant differences. Here’s a look at both.

The Exterior Look

The Challenger is a two-door coupe, while the Charger has four doors and is a sedan. The Challenger has round headlights and a long, wide hood with a rectangular shape. The Challenger’s roof is also low and flat. Looking at the Charger, you’ll see it sits up taller, and it doesn’t have the round headlights.

The Interior

Once you sit inside, you’ll see some similarities. Both have the same style steering wheel, and the control layout is the same. The Charger’s higher roofline gives passengers some extra headroom that you don’t find in the Challenger, and it also provides for better outward visibility. The Challenger will seat up to four people, and the Charger can comfortably fit five.

The Engine Lineup

Both vehicles start with a 3.6-liter V-6 engine, and they both have the same range of V-8 engines available. This means you can choose from a 5.7-liter V-8 with 370 horsepower, a 6.4-liter V-8 with 480 horsepower, and the Hellcat with its 6.2-liter V-8, 707 horsepower engine. The Challenger introduced the Hellcat Redeye for 2019 which will make 797 horsepower.

Both the Charger and the Challenger provide similar performance, and no matter which one you choose, it will have plenty of straight-line power.
