A small problem in your engine can become a serious one if it’s not repaired. Your Chrysler engine requires regular services according to your car manual to keep it running like it’s designed to. If you experience any engine problems, your Chrysler dealer can fix them for you. These are a few examples of possible problems you may encounter.

Dead Battery

The battery has the vital role of providing the power that starts your engine. A battery contains various chemicals, and the chemical reactions produced inside the battery allow it to store electricity and recharge. These reactions, however, will eventually destroy the battery. These chemicals slowly change and break down as they work, which causes the battery to fail.

Sulfuric acid, one of the most important chemicals in the battery, gradually breaks down and releases hydrogen gas. This gas escapes the battery and can cause corrosion on the battery terminals. We advise that your battery is tested every three years. Our technicians will attach the battery to our testing machine to check its health. If your battery is weak, we can install a new one for you.

Damaged Catalytic Converter

The catalytic converter is part of your exhaust system. It converts dangerous chemicals produced by the combustion process into less harmful ones. The conversion process involves complex reactions with the platinum in the converter, great pressure, and high levels of heat. A converter can become blocked or damaged, which will affect your engine performance.

If the converter is blocked, exhaust gases will be forced back into your engine. These gases will alter the fuel-air mix in the engine and result in stalling, poor fuel efficiency, and other problems. The high fuel concentration can also choke your engine when it starts up and cause it to shut down. We can clear a blockage in the converter, or replace a worn-out converter.

Worn Oil Pump

Oil is pumped continuously through your engine and lubricates all the moving parts. This lubrication is vital, as it protects the parts against friction damage. The flow of oil also helps to reduce the temperature in the engine. The oil clears dirt and other debris in your engine by collecting it and depositing it in the oil filter.

The smooth flow of il depends on the oil pump. This small component forces the oil through the system. If the pump fails, oil won’t flow through the engine, and this can lead to worn parts and contribute to your engine overheating. We can quickly replace a damaged pump to solve this problem.
