Dunn, NC Food

Whether you’ve run out of groceries at the house or want to celebrate a big achievement, eating out is a fun activity the whole family can enjoy. Though it’s on the smaller side, Sallisaw, Oklahoma, still has plenty of great places for you to find a bite to eat. The next time you’re craving a delicious meal, hit up one of the following restaurants in the area.

Shad’s Catfish Hole

Stop by Shad’s Catfish Hole, located at 462700 E. 1140 Road to enjoy some of your favorite home-cooked specialties. The menu here consists of mostly fried entrees, from the titular all-you-can-eat catfish to more turf-themed fare, such as chicken or frog legs. Seafood items are popular here, so it’s the place to come if you have a craving for fish.

Whichever main dish you choose, you’ll also get a number of side accompaniments paired with it, including beans, coleslaw, green tomato relish, pickles, and onions. Finally, you’ll get your choice of a side, which can be steamed veggies, a baked potato, or fries.

Regardless of your choice, be prepared for a lot of food. Also, keep in mind that this restaurant is cash-only, so leave your credit card at home.

Blue Ribbon Diner

Seeking more traditional diner fare? If so, the Blue Ribbon Diner at 1720 W. Cherokee Ave. is where you need to be. This quaint, homey establishment serves up all the traditional offerings you might expect from a roadside diner, with a few twists. Breakfast items are served all day, and one of the most popular offerings is two eggs paired with a full order of country ham. This also comes with hash browns and your choice of toast or a biscuit and gravy.

If breakfast isn’t your thing, flip over to the lunch and dinner menu, which includes delightful options like the open-face roast beef sandwich, catfish and shrimp dinner, or the chicken-fried steak, all of which come with your choice of two different sides.

Olde Feed Barn

If you’re craving the best burger Sallisaw has to offer, head down to the Olde Feed Barn at 702 E. Cherokee Ave. While the atmosphere is casual, the food here will satisfy your palate’s every desire. Choose from a number of different kinds of burgers, including an onion burger, thousand island burger, bacon burger, chili burger, and more. Each burger comes in one-third-, one-half-, and whole-pound variants, so you can customize your meal, depending on your hunger level.

Of course, there are options for the non-beef eaters out there. The Olde Feed Barn offers chicken sandwiches, fish sandwiches, grilled cheese, corn dogs, burritos, and more. Build a combo, which comes with fries and a drink, to save a few bucks.

Though it’s a small town, Sallisaw has no lack of delicious restaurants for you to try. The next time you feel the pangs of hunger strike your belly, why not give one of these eateries a visit? You’re sure to find a meal that will satisfy your taste buds.
