2020 Chrysler Pacifica

7 Amazing Safety Features of the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica

The Chrysler Pacifica is the standard to beat when it comes to minivans. Graceful and rewarding to drive, full of entertaining and convenient tech features, and packed with room for your family and all their stuff, it's no question that the Pacifica is an excellent choice for driving big groups. But as with any family, safety is a top priority. Take a look at some of the incredible safety technology that helps the 2020 Pacifica protect you and your loved ones. Rear Cross Path Detection Safety isn't all about high speeds and heavy collisions. Safety is just as important when moving in and out of parking lots, which are full of other moving vehicles in awkward positions, not to mention pedestrians. The Pacifica includes Rear Cross Path Detection on all models, warning you if the rearview camera senses something moving toward your path as you back up. more 360 Surround View Camera The Pacifica is a big vehicle, so if you want to feel secure from every angle, consider the available 360-degree Surround View Camera. This system creates a top-down view of the Pacifica on your infotainment system, so you can clearly see if you're getting close to, say, a wall during a difficult parking maneuver. ParkSense The ParkSense system includes Rear Park Assist, which is standard, and Front Park Assist, an available upgrade. Both will guide the steering of the vehicle automatically while you accelerate and brake into position. Beyond that, drivers can also opt for parallel and perpendicular park assist, a fully-autonomous set of parking behaviors that your Pacifica will carry out on its own. Forward Collision Warning While many vehicles today include forward collision warning, the available Pacifica option works at high speeds and includes automatic braking if the driver fails to respond. If you're suddenly caught on the highway with a vehicle stopping too abruptly, the Pacifica will first warn you, then brake to minimize or avoid a collision. Adaptive Cruise Control With ordinary cruise control, the vehicle stays at one speed. But with Adaptive Cruise Control, the 2020 Pacifica instead uses radar to gauge the distance between you and the car ahead. Then, the system will accelerate, decelerate, and even brake to maintain that distance. With Adaptive Cruise Control, the Pacifica is capable of coming to a complete stop and starting up again, and all you have to do is steer. Blind Spot Monitoring Long vehicles like minivans tend to have bigger blind spots when switching lanes. All 2020 Pacifica models include the Blind Spot Monitoring System, which alerts you if you are approaching a lane while a vehicle is currently in the blind spot behind you. It does this by blinking an icon on the corresponding side mirror, clear yet unobtrusive. LaneSense Finally, drivers can also upgrade their Pacificas with LaneSense, which includes two features. Lane Departure Warnings will inform the driver if they are drifting out of a lane, while Lane Keep Assist actually engages the steering mildly to stop the unintended drifting. The 2020 Pacifica has won the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's five-star rating, the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety's Top Safety Pick, and Family Car of the Year by Cars.com. If you want a minivan with as much safety as it has style, the Pacifica is an excellent choice. Image via chrysler.com

2020 Dodge Ram 2500

Experience the Power of the 2020 Dodge Ram

A truck is hardly worth your time if it isn't powerful enough to handle your daily tasks and chores, which is why the 2020 Dodge Ram is a top choice for so many people. Take a look at some of the impressive features of the various available engines. You'll see where the Ram gets its high towing and payload numbers. Standard eTorque V-6 engine At the basic level, the 2020 Ram comes with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, which pumps out 305 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, can haul a payload of 2,000 pounds and can tow up to 7,730 pounds. For a light-duty truck engine, this impressive creation offers more than enough power for the average pickup driver. The eight-speed automatic transmission paired to the V-6 gives the Ram enough of a smooth acceleration to balance out its brawny strength. The engine uses wide-range variable valve timing and two-step variable valve lift so that even when putting in a heavy performance, the V-6 doesn't waste precious fuel. more 5.7-Liter V-8 HEMI Upgrade For drivers who need to tow large vehicles, trailers full of construction equipment, and other heavy burdens, the Ram also offers an available engine upgrade: a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 available on the Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, and Rebel trim levels. Delivering 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque, the V-8 will carry a 1,900-pound payload but will tow up to 11,620 pounds when fully equipped. It also included an Active Noise Control system, which balances out the roar of the engine at highway speeds and makes your ride more comfortable for passengers, without sacrificing on power. The V-8 upgrade also includes a larger fuel tank, 26 gallons, to keep you on the road and trail for longer. eTorque V-8 Hybrid Upgrade Making the move from the standard Pentastar V-6 to the V-8 follows a simple philosophy: bigger equals stronger. But can improved efficiency also lead to increased power output? Dodge certainly thinks so, and thus the 5.7-liter V-8 HEMI engine can also be further upgraded with an eTorque hybrid technology, similar to what comes standard as part of the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine's setup. If your goal is maximum capability numbers, this is the configuration for you. The hybrid-upgraded V-8 has the same horsepower and torque numbers, but payload jumps up to 2,300 pounds, and the tow rating climbs to 12,750 pounds when fully equipped. Turbo Diesel 3.0-Liter V-6 Lastly, for drivers who have a ready source of diesel fuel and prefer the performance of a diesel engine, the 2020 Ram also offers an incredibly powerful 3.0-liter Turbo Diesel V-6 engine. Sporting 260 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque, you'll feel the tank-like crawl of this powerful engine at low speeds. Despite being a V-6, the engine still hauls up to 1,810 pounds with the right trim and package combination, and the tow rating reaches 10,040 pounds. The 2020 Dodge Ram offers a great spread of powerful engines, and that's not even looking at the capabilities of its Super Duty 2500 and 3500 models for specialist needs. If you're eager to own a new truck that doesn't compromise on capability, you'll be more than pleased with the latest Ram. Image via ramtrucks.com

Keep it Clean Dead bugs, road grime, and pollen can all reduce your visibility. Even worse, these items can scratch the glass when you use your windshield wipers. These tiny scratches can eventually lead to larger cracks on your windshield. To keep your windshield clean, remember to wash it every time you stop for gas. You can also use a microfiber towel and a homemade solution of white vinegar and water to clean your windshield at home. After it's clean, don't forget to apply a rain repellent for even better visibility during wet weather. more Avoid Extreme Temperature Changes If you've ever filled a warm glass with cold water, you know that it can shatter due to the drastic temperature change. This is because glass can actually expand and shrink as the temperature around it changes. To make sure this doesn't happen to your windshield, you want to avoid any quick and extreme temperature changes. If you park your car in a garage when it's cold outside, you should open the garage door before starting your car so the glass can slowly acclimatize to the outdoor temperature. Change the Wiper Blades Even though you don't use your windshield wipers every day, they typically only last six to 12 months. Heavy use and overexposure to the sun can cause them to deteriorate even faster. Squeaking, chattering, or other unusual noises when you use your wiper blades are all signs that it's time to replace them. If your blades are simply leaving streaks on your windshield, you can clean them by wiping down the edges with rubbing alcohol. Practice Proper Driving Habits Even though windshields are thick and sturdy, they can't handle everything that comes their way, including flying debris. If you're driving behind a large truck, maintain a safe distance so any hurtling rocks or other debris won't hit your windshield and cause a crack. You should also stay at least 10 feet behind the car in front of you, especially if you're driving down a road that has a lot of grit or numerous potholes. Fix Chips Quickly Even if you practice good driving habits, you might end up with a chip in your windshield. If you do, you should get it fixed as soon as possible. Most small chips can be filled in quickly and cheaply. However, if you ignore a small chip, everyday driving on bumpy roads could cause it to become a large crack that costs a significant amount of time and money to repair. When you follow these tips on how to take care of your windshield, you'll be able to extend the lifespan of the glass and enjoy excellent visibility every time you go for a drive.   Image via Pixabay
